যুক্তরাষ্ট্রে অবৈধ অভিবাসীদের বিরুদ্ধে ট্রাম্প প্রশাসনের নির্দেশনায় আইসিই (ইমিগ্রেশন অ্যান্ড কাস্টমস এনফোর্সমেন্ট) এখন পর্যন্ত ৭ হাজার ৪শর বেশি ব্যক্তিকে আটক করেছে। গত ৩১ জানুয়ারি পর্যন্ত এই সংখ্যা ছাড়িয়েছে।

প্রেসিডেন্ট ডোনাল্ড ট্রাম্প সম্প্রতি বলেছেন, অপরাধী অভিবাসীদের অস্থায়ীভাবে গুয়ানতানামো বে ডিটেনশন ক্যাম্পে স্থানান্তর করা হবে। তিনি আরো জানিয়েছেন, সন্ত্রাসী গ্যাং এবং মাদক চোরাচালানকারীদের বিরুদ্ধে সামরিক পদক্ষেপও নেওয়া হতে পারে।

এই অভিযানে আইসিই’র পাশাপাশি ড্রাগ এনফোর্সমেন্ট অ্যাডমিনিস্ট্রেশন (ডিইএ), ফেডারেল ব্যুরো অফ ইনভেস্টিগেশন (এফবিআই) এবং অ্যালকোহল, তামাক, অস্ত্র ও বিস্ফোরক ব্যুরো (এটিএফ) সহ অন্যান্য ফেডারেল সংস্থাগুলিও অংশগ্রহণ করছে।

Under the Trump administration’s directive, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has arrested over 7,400 individuals involved in illegal immigration. As of January 31, this number has exceeded that mark. ICE is carrying out operations across the country, particularly in sanctuary cities like New York City, Chicago, and Boston. Among those arrested are members of violent gangs, including the Tren de Aragua gang from Venezuela and the MS-13 gang from Guatemala.

President Donald Trump has recently stated that criminal migrants will be temporarily relocated to the Guantanamo Bay detention camp. He also mentioned that military actions against terrorist gangs and drug cartels may be considered. Alongside ICE, other federal agencies like the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) are assisting in these operations.
